Event Information
The Shamrock Run, sponsored by the George C. Round Parent Teacher Organization, is a great race to start the spring running season in Northern Virginia. Race timing is professionally provided by RaceWire. All procedes benefit the students and teachers at Round Elementary School. Our goal this year is to provide each classroom with the technology it needs to help our kids get ahead. We will have some hot coffee ready for you before the race, and lots of water and healthy snacks for you after. Please join us. If you can't make it to the school, please be a virtual runner. You can make a difference in our school no matter where you are.

Race Route & Weather
Our course is USTA certified (# VA-03002-RT). Starting and ending at George C. Round Elementary, the 5k Run route will traverse the adjacent neighborhoods and parks. The course involves both paved and gravel paths. Uphill and down. The race will take place in all weather conditions except those hazardous to health and safety (below 10F and iced surfaces). Therefore, refunds will not be issued. Sorry, no pets are allowed on the 5k route.

I know that running or walking a road race is a potentially hazardous activity and I should not enter and run/ walk unless I am medically able & properly trained. I assume all risks associated with participating in the event including but not limited to falls, contact with other participants, the effects of weather, traffic & road conditions, all such risks being known & appreciated by me. I agree to abide by any decision made by race officials relative to my ability to safely compete in run/walk. Having read this waiver & knowing these factors & in consideration of your accepting my entry, I for myself & anyone entitled to act on my behalf, waive, release & indemnify G.C. Round Elementary School and all of its agents, officers & employees, staff of city schools & all of its agents, officers and employees, the sponsors of this race, any government entities, and any other persons or organizers associated with the event though liability may arise out of negligence or carelessness on the part of the person named in this waiver. I grant permission to all foregoing to use any photograph, video, recording or any other record of this event for any legitimate purpose. While strollers are permitted in the 1M, they are NOT permitted in the 5k. Use of baby joggers is allowable in 5k ONLY if baby jogger equipment is designed for racing. No Roller blades, Skates, Headsets, Bikes, or Skateboards in either 5k Run or 1 mile Run/Walk. No pets are allowed in either the 5k Run or 1 mile Run/Walk. SecureFee™ Registration Cancellation Insurance is offered in most states. If purchased, your registration may be covered for one of the covered reasons stated in the policy.
